1. Can we leave our luggage at the Hotel, whilst we are on the track?
Yes. We have a storage cupboard where house guests can leave their luggage (no food, please).
2. Can we check in before 2pm?
Maybe. You can come to the Hotel as soon as you arrive on the Island. If your room is ready you may absolutely check in. If your room is not yet ready, you are welcome to leave your luggage with us until you are able to check in. We also have a guest lounge which you can use whilst you wait.
3. Check out time is at 10am. We are leaving the Island in the afternoon/evening. Can we leave our luggage at the Hotel until departure?
Yes. We have a designated area where you can store your luggage until you depart the Island. Alternatively, the ferry and flight offices will hold your luggage for you until your departure later in the day.
4. WiFi?
Yes. WiFi is available free of charge for house guests. Please be aware that due to our location our connection sometimes struggles under heavy load (as with all internet connections on the Island), and may not be high speed at all times.
5. What time is the Restaurant open?
The Restaurant is open from 7:00am - 8:00pm. Meals are able to be ordered during the times listed below.
Cooked Breakfast - 8:00 - 10:30am
Continental Breakfast is available 7:00 - 10:30am
Lunch - 11:30am - 2:00pm
During Winter (May-Oct) the lunch hours are 11:30am - 1:30pm
Dinner - 5:30 - 8:00pm
Last seating in the Restaurant is at 7:30pm
During Winter (May-Oct) we may operate on reduced hours, and meals may be served in the Pub.
We offer gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options, but please make your requirements clear to our waiting staff.

6. Do we need to book for dinner?
Yes. Evening Restaurant reservations are essential from October to May. Alternatively, you can eat in the Pub area without a reservation.
For larger groups we highly recommend booking a Restaurant table in advance of your visit to the Island. We have limited space during the busy season (Oct-May) and may not be able to accommodate you last minute.
7. What is the difference between the Restaurant and the Pub?
Typically there is a slightly different menu in the evenings between the Restaurant and the Pub, however our most popular dishes are available in both areas. Additionally, table service is offered in the Restaurant whereas in the Pub all orders are taken at the bar.

8. If we arrive by plane how do we get to the Hotel?
Stewart Island Flights operate a courtesy van that will automatically shuttle you from the airstrip to their depot on the Halfmoon Bay waterfront. From there we are only a short 2 minute walk away.
9. If we arrive by ferry how do we get to the Hotel?
The ferry arrives at the main wharf in Halfmoon Bay, which is within sight of the Hotel. From there we are only a short 2 minute walk away.
